traffic limiting on C6K5 CatOS

I have been trying to set a limit on the traffic that can flow out or into a fast Ethernet port on a Cisco 6500 running Cat OS.

I have tried the policer aggregate command, I enabled QOS globally and specified ACL and ACE, and then linked it to a port, ie. 9/4.

But have not had any luck what so ever.

I have been trying to limit the data transfer, regardless of what kind of traffic to 2MB/sec.

Can anyone please help me out on this one?

These are the commands that I used:

set qos enable

set qos policer aggregate Traffic-Test rate 2000 burst 1 drop

set qos acl ip Traffic_Shapping dscp 0 aggregate Traffic-Test ip any any

commit qos acl all

set qos acl map Traffic_Shapping 9/4

I am not running any Quality of Service stuff just regular traffic.

Re: traffic limiting on C6K5 CatOS

Currently only Ingress Policing is possible.

What sup and PFC and sotware version ?

The commands should be fine. is 9/4 set to default port-based qos.

what does the output of the sh qos statistics l3stats say.

if you using sup2/pfc2 you may be able to see the stats on per policer basis.
