Traffic prioritising/queing over ATM PVC

I have an 8 Mb PVC between our data centre and our DR site. most of the traffic is replication between 4 or 5 server pairs - but some is "user traffic" (the DR site also has users accessing apps at the data centre).

my question is this - is it possible (and if so how!) to ensure that the non-replication traffic gets to use say a guarantted 2Mb of the available bandwidth on demand? currently this traffic behaves unpredictably - ensuring disagreeable users - when replication is really busy.

WHy don't you use CBWFQ or MCLI to prioritise your traffic at the PVC level? Note that this is dependent on the version of IOS so read the requirements carefully. You can do QOS using CBWFQ with quite a diverse options including stuff like setting dirrefent DSCP, IP Precedence, priority queuing, fair queing etc. Have a look at the Cisco web site and if you don't find what you're looking for, let me know.
