Traffic shaping problems with ip / vofr

we have a problem that when we enable traffic shaping our ip traffic just sits in the queue and then gets dropped Even if there is no vofr traffic and our frame provider says that they see no congestion on their network. vofr and cdp traffic always go through ok.

we are using mc3810's (IOS 12.1.7) in hub and spoke configuration. Our spokes are at cir 64k, port 128k, but we use map class to prevent data bursting over cir. we have disabled adptive shaping (so we don't get or send FECN/BECN) and are trying to use fair-queue traffic-shaping.

Our Hub is a T1 with multiple point-to-point subinterfaces, all set to cir 64K, again with map-class set to prevent bursting over 64k.

Without traffic shaping enabled, everything works fine, but vofr can be impacted during large file transfers.

any suggestions?

things to check would be to sho frame pvc multiple times, check if packets are constantly being delayed and shaping is always active?? In that case check if your Bc is set too low, causing this problem and also check for traffic shaping drops??

Also, make sure the fragmentation is set right on both ends.

The simple answer was that we had to RELOAD the router for traffic-shaping to start working properly!
