transport input none + exec-timeout

Hi.

can enyone explain the purpose of:

1. transport input none

2. exec-timeout

these commands are used in line configuration mode

to secure not used lines.

transport input none ! deny all protocols (telnet/ssh ...)

exec-timeout ! with this command you can specify how many time of inactivity is allowed before auto logoff.

usually on not used interfaces/lines you configure

exec-timeout 0 1

other commands to secure not used lines:

example:

line vty 0 4

transport input none

transport output none

exec-timeout 0 1

login

no password
