Trouble with portsecurity

running c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-25.SEB1

On one of the interfaces I got a lot of these messages:

PORT_SECURITY-2-PSECURE_VIOLATION: Security violation occurred, caused by MAC address 0020.e0be.d5f3 on port FastEthernet0/12

The mac adress differ from message to message.

The strange thing is that there is only one PC connected, with one NIC and no bridging.

Suggestion anyone

Re: Trouble with portsecurity

There is a limitation due to which a 3550 will learn MAC address on a port based on packets with a bad CRC.

Try configuring the following as a workaround.

switchport port-security violation protect

or

switchport port-security violation restrict

Re: Trouble with portsecurity

I'm already running with

"switchport port-security violation restrict"

It's not working ether.

Acording to info on the bug-descr. link

"All affected versions. There is no 12.2-version on the list. Does this been that the bug is not present on the 12.2-train?
