Troubleshooting Terminal Lines

Having problems with a Cisco 2511 Async lines. We are using Octal cable to connect to Wyse 160 terminals telneting into a IBM server. Terminals will drop conection in middle of the session. Once it is dropped, session will establish itself within a few minutes??
