Trunk between a cisco and a foundry switch

I have a foundry BigIron layer 3 switch and a cisco Catalyst 3500XL. and I defined a trunk dotq1 on the cisco switch and a trunk port on foundry switch, But it is not working. I cannot ping from the cisco switch to any of the vlans

I'm also looking for an answer since we couldn't use dot1q between a Cisco 6509 and a Foundry ServerIron !

regarding the ServerIron, you shouldn't configure a trunk between the Catalyst and the SI, because the SI works on layer 2 and 4-7 not layer 3. Your design should be like this, put the ServerIron in any of the VLANs and assign the SI with an IP address and then connect the SI with Catalyst with one of that Vlan ports. if u need any help regarding configuring the SI tell me
