Trunk between Cat 3500 and a Cisco 2600

I'm doing a trunk between a cat 3500 and a router 2600, and i have 2 subinterfaces (e0/0.1 and e0/0.2) in the router, and the port of the switch if FastEthernet. I'm doing encaptulation with 802.1q and i'm only having layer 2 (cdp works well), but i have not layer 3. I put the switch port (the trunk one) to run at 10Mbps (because the ethernet on router support only 10).

Why isn't working, is it able to work?

Thanks!

It's only because 802.1q is not suported on 10Mbps interfaces.

You need a FastEthernet interface on your 2600.

Regards.

Ok, and if i do it with isl???

will it work?

Bad luck, ISL and trunking in general needs a Fast Ethernet interface

Ok, thanks anyway...

I am essentially trying to do the same with a 2520 and 2948GL3. Will it be possible if I install a Fast Ethernet interface on the 2520 ?
