Hi,

we just bought Cisco CE500 switches of 10, since it doesn't support CLI, i was configuring the switches with the CNA, but struggled a bit, but couldn't find how to make the gigabit port as trunking? (i mean "switchport mode trunk" command which is in 2950)

According to the link below 802.1 trunking is enabled automatically as part of the some of the pre-configured modes. This document should also help you with other configuration questions.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

on the CE500, that command is indeed not available. If you need to configure a trunk port (as a connection to another switch), you have to define the Smartport role 'switch' to the port. Check this link for details:

In the CE500 you assign port roles to each interface and according to the role assigned, supposedly the appropriate commands are assigned to the port. To create a trunk, you would want to assign the role of "switch" to the port.

Hope this helps.
