Trying to initiate a isdn call between two routers.
We have a Cisco 3660 as our main ISDN router here at the corporate facility. We also have a little 2610 that we dial into for nonintrusive testing with our remote locations. I am currently trying to configure this 2610 to act as a remote location and dial into the 3660. Here is the output from the debug isdn q931:
This tells me that everything is fine at this level and that the call is failing at a higher level protocol. Yet when I do a debug ppp authen on both sides, I don't every see any authentication. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
Re: Trying to initiate a isdn call between two routers.
No, the debug doesn't indicate that everything is fine. The call is being cleared instead of answered. What you see is SETUP then DISCONNECT; can't say why the 3660 is clearing the call. For now you should capture "debug isdn q931" on the 3660 to see. Once you get the ISDN portion resolved, if you still have issues then you will want to enable "debug ppp neg".
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
