TTCP Testing

Does anyone know the proper receive and transmit settings for using Test TCP (TTCP) over a gigabit fiber link? I want to bench test some circuits, but the only TTCP model I have to work from is a demo sheet illustrating a 56Kbps TTCP test. I'm having trouble figuring out how I need to set my NBUF, BUFLEN, and RCVWNDSIZE settings for testing gig. Any suggestions?

Re: TTCP Testing

Previously I tried ttcp and was not all that impressed.

If you want to load up a gig link you may have better sucess with iperf http://dast.nlanr.net/Projects/Iperf/ (use UDP for loading up at specific bandwidths.

Also netcat is quite nice as well, allowing you to stream different data types to test compression algorithms. http://www.atstake.com/research/tools/#network_utilities
