turn off multicasting

hi all.

I have a question , we have approximaly 60 swtiches on our lan in various clusters.

these are mase up of 2924XL's & 3524XL's & a few 2950's.

For reasons relating to our firewalls , we need to turn off multicasting on these switches.

Looking at the commands it seems I have to do this on a per port basis, which over all switches amounts to an awful lot of interfaces.

Could you tell me if there is a way that I can turn of multicasting on all ports, of a switch. is there a config I could merge with there current config , or something like that, or do I have to go to each switch & then each port on the switch switch to turn it off.

Please somebody save my fingers

Many thanks

Re: turn off multicasting

As far as I understand it there is nothing to turn on or off related to multicasting in the switch except CGMP and that does not stop multicasts.

What commands are you looking at?

Re: turn off multicasting

forgive me , what I meant was to block all multicast traffic.

I was looking at the port block multicast command ,

on the interface
