Two IOS's in flash on 2610

I upgraded on 2610 with a different IOS. However, I did not erase the first flash so it now has both files in flash. How do I get it to use the second flash IOS file and get rid of the first IOS file? I prefer not to erase flash and re-TFTP if I don't have to.

You should be able to load either image

with the "boot system flash filename"

command.

Using the boot system flash command, you can force the router to boot on the second image. Regarding the removal of the old file, it is not possible on the 2600 to selectively remove a file from a flash partition. You have to erase the whole content.

to delete the selected image use

delete flash:

then you should be able to do a squeeze on the flash to compact it but on my version of the IOS it fails
