Unable to access VSM in 10 new Cisco Switches

Hi all

I hv 5 x 3548XL & 4 x 2950-24 Switches switches running IOS version

"12.0(5.3)WC(1". I'm running JRE 1.3.1 on my win98 PC.

In all the switches I'm facing problem accessing the Visual Switch Manager.

It keep asking for the following details. I tried enable password

as the username / password as mentioned in one of the web pages in

Cisco site. But still no luck.

It asks for the following :

Firewall : 128.6.0.32 / 128.6.0.32

Realm : Level 15 access

Scheme : Basic

Username : -------------

Password : -------------

Try

a) create a special user with privilege 15 and use this username and password to connect via browser,

b) if it doesn't work, try to upgrade to JRE 1.4.0 from Sun. I'm using it and it is the only JRE version working with both IOS and CatOS based switches in my network. (I'm using the international version because I'm running the national version of Win2000 on my PC).

c) If even this doesn't help try to downgrade to JRE 1.2. or 1.3.0. - I remember 1.3.1. wasn't supported for a long time by Cisco.
