Unable to change settings via CV 5.4

I am trying to change the Port Name using CV 5.4 and am getting an error message : "Timeout on switch1". The switch1 is a Cat 5500 and I have made sure that the community string is OK . I have no problems displaying the switch in the CV and monitoring various ports, however can't change any settings on the ports.

Anybody happens to know what could cause this?

When you say "the community string" are you certain you have RW access with this (assuming one) community you are using? Can ensure that you are using a RW community for this operation. If you are able to get information but cannot change anything this is what I would think you should verify initially.
