Unable to enter Priv. mode on a accesspro

When I type enable ( Enter ) from user mode to try and enter privileged mode

on an acesspro card I get this response ( % No password set ) and I'm

returned to user mode. Any suggestions. I just picked up this card off

of ebay so I'm not sure whats been done to it. Its running IOS 11.3 (11a).

Seems strange to me since if no password is set I should be allowed

in. The only thing I can think of doing is treating the problem as a lost password and taking the appropriate action but I'll wait first to see if anyone

has more insight into the matter

Are you on a telnet session or a console session? If you are on a telnet session what you are seeing is normal. Try consoling in

Its a console session

Prob. is solved. Cockpit error by me. I was trying to console in via the aux port

which is one of the rj45 ports on the card. I now know you have to set up a terminal session via com 2 ( the default by way of the jumper settings on the

card ) thru the PC. I've got the card installed in a CPQ 486 PC running

98. I used hyper terminal to console in. Its seems like an unusual way to set

it up, but it works.
