Are you trying to get the switch going with an IOS image?
Reading your other posting it appears to me that you are trying to accomplish something with the supervisor SW.
Regarding your question: When I repeat the procedure you describe I get an error as well. Digging in my memory I think it is as follows: When you are running the correct image you connect the router (MSFC-card) by telnetting to the supervisor IP adress. That is how it works with my switches.
A dump of: sh ver could confirm this. Check what image your supervisor runs at the moment. I suppose this is still CatOS.
