Understanding Access-List ????

Hi All.

I have just one point to understand in access list.

I have a client place where I have installed a 801 for LAN connect.

The requirement being that the users from outside ie the internet.

I gave the access list as follows.

interface BRI0

no ip address

ip access-group 110 in

no ip directed-broadcast

encapsulation ppp

dialer rotary-group 1

isdn switch-type basic-net3

no cdp enable

..... ( then the usual , dial sting and all )

access-list 110 deny icmp any host

access-list 110 deny ip any host

access-list 110 permit tcp any host eq 1352

dialer-list 1 protocol ip permit

Well it is said that apply the access-list to the interace and then it willwork fine,

the problem: I am not able to ping to the Public IP , thats good.

If I log on to any 98 MC and go to start , Run , and type in \\ . I get network not found.

But specifically if I log on to a windows 2000 system , server R professional, and do the same thing,I am prompted with a username and password dialogue box.Which I am very upset with.

Any Ideas how to resolve this.?

Thanx in advance.

Re: Understanding Access-List ????

Your Access list does not make sense to me. If you deny all IP , then the last permit will never fire, you will need to change the order. When you are prompted for the Winlogon - is it successfull?

When you attached the Access-list to the interface - how did you apply - in or out ?
