Unicast RPF and multi-home machines

Hello everyone,

I implemented Unicast RPF (ip verify unicast reverse-path), and I was not able to connect to multi-home machines at least to one of the interfaces. As soon as I removed it, everything went back to normal.

Am I missing something?

Does Unicast RPF work with multi-home machines?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is not recommended that you apply Unicast RPF where there is a chance of asymmetric routing. It is simplest to place Unicast RPF only at the edge of a network or, for an ISP, at the customer edge of the network. Unicast RPF should not be used on interfaces that are internal to the network.
