Unicast RPF and multi-home machines

Hello everyone,

I implemented Unicast RPF (ip verify unicast reverse-path), and I was not able to connect to multi-home machines at least to one of the interfaces. As soon as I removed it, everything went back to normal.

Am I missing something?

Does Unicast RPF work with multi-home machines?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is not recommended that you apply Unicast RPF where there is a chance of asymmetric routing. It is simplest to place Unicast RPF only at the edge of a network or, for an ISP, at the customer edge of the network. Unicast RPF should not be used on interfaces that are internal to the network. Refer the following doc for more information.

If you suspect that it could be a bug, check the Bug Toolkit for the same.
