unsupported hardware into switch before SW upgrade

I have a WS-X4448-GB-RJ45 which I need to install in a 4006 we have. At the moment it's running 5.5 ( I believe) at the moment, and I need to upgrade it to 7.2(2).

Does anyone know if I could upload the new SW, install the new module, and leave it sitting there without rebooting until the scheduled power outage we have tomorrow, during which it will be reset anyway? Would this cause any issues?

You can have the WS-X4448-GB-RJ45 in the chassis. It should not cause any issues. Make sure you have set the correct bootvariables before you reset
