Upgrading a 2950

I am upgrading a 2950 to c2950-i6q4l2-tar.121-13.EA1b.tar. I have downloaded and have up to 5242880 free after I deleted the html directory. I then extracted the file above but as soon as it gets to the help.sgz under the html, it always crashes out. I have done this twice now. The file size of c2950-i6q4l2-tar.121-13.EA1b.tar is 4,878,336 so there should be more than enough space but it crashes out and does not verify.

WHat else can I do?

Thanks

Re: Upgrading a 2950

Thanks

If I delete the whole flash and do the extract and it does not work, after reboot, how will I be able to log into the switch to download another version?

Thanks

Re: Upgrading a 2950

If it doesn't work (it's working 99.9999%)

you can recovery with xmodem procedure (1hour to do this upgrade instead 2 minutes with the first)

Re: Upgrading a 2950

Hi

Does the normal hyperterminal that comes with WIn2000 have xmodem?

Thanks

I think yes.

Re: Upgrading a 2950

Thank you so very much. Everything worked and it is fine. The reson why it was bumping out was because there was not enough space so I had to delete most of the files in the flash and then it was fine.

Thanks
