Upgrading c8540

I need to upgrade my 8540 to route between ATM and Ethernet.

Currently I am using a 7507 for all routing.

3 c8540-mrp-fcl Switch processor

1 c8540-mrp Route processor no Flash no clock

12 CES T1 Circuit Emulation T1’s

1 622 SM ATM sm IR, (currently 30 PVC’s)

1 155 MM 4 x OC3 (will be removed)

I will be upgrading the memory and flash on the C8540-mrp

I will be putting in a 2 port GigE card to connect to a 6509

Do I need a ARM-64K or ARM2 route processor as well, to route between Ethernet and ATM?

Will I need a Stratum 4 clock on the c8540-mrp?

Are there any other considerations I should be thinking about?

John

I guess ARM-64K unless your network needs a robust MPLS setup. I didnt find any major features available to go for ARM2 other jumbo frame support (Which may be required for MPLS), more memory and integrated ACL support. Refer to the ARM2 datasheet to decide
