upgrading router via console through terminal server

Hi all,

is there any way to upgrade a router that has lost it flash, and hence is only accessible via its console port, via an attatched terminal server?

The terminal server would need translate xmodem over ip to xmodem over async I suppose.

It depends what hardware platform you are referring to. Most have a boot image that will enable you to load in a copy of the full IOS to the flash otherwise they usually support xmodem.
