subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

gateway: 172.17.3.254

B's ip: 172.17.15.33

subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Re: urgent! can someone help me?

Hi Friend,

I think they are workstation or servers.

If yes make sure on B you have no firewall turned on.

If it is wondows xp or something it has a default firewall which rtestrivt pings soemtime.

Re: urgent! can someone help me?

A and B are workstations. let say A is in vlan1 and B is in vlan2.

A can ping B, but B cant ping A.

no firewalls turned on.

Re: urgent! can someone help me?

Hi,

As Ankur suggested, did you get a chance to check if there is a firewall on A or B PCs or may be in between them or perhaps an access list on the switch.

Can you do the follwings 2 tasks and paste the results.

Task 1

Ping from host A to 10.17.3.254

Ping from host A to 10.17.15.33

ping from host A to 10.17.15.254

tracert from host A to 10.17.15.254

Task 2

Ping from host B to 10.17.15.254

Ping from host B to 10.17.3.15

ping from host B to 10.17.3.254

tracert from host B to 10.17.3.254

This will give us more info to help you further.
