use of RJ 45 on 4006 sup engine

Hello,

Their are 2 ports on 4006 switch. One console and another RJ 45.

What for is the RJ 45 used.

The functionality of that port depends on the model of supervisor you're using (Sup1, 2, 3 or 4) and whether it runs CatOS or IOS. See this URL:

On some platforms you can use it for management while the switch is running. For the new Sup3/Sup4, you can only use it while in ROMMON to load new images onto the switch. In no circumstance can you use it as another switch port to plug devices into.
