Re: User Tracking Ports with Multiple MAC Address

Hi,

Ciscoworks suppose that one user device (i.e. one MAC address) is connected to each port.

If there is a port with two or more MAC addresses connected (and it is not a truno or a link connecting two switches) it's considered "suspicious".

So you can use this report and check all the ports listed on it:

They should be either trunks or links connecting switches together.

If there is a port with multiple MAC addresses connected and is neither a trunk nor connects another switch - there is a hub (or wireless access-point or something similar) connected to it probably.

Regards,

Milan
