I have twou routers connectet via ISDN

Zyxel -------------------- Cisco 1600

When I do a PING from the Zyxel to the Cisco box, I receive the ping reply on the second b channel. How can i prevent this behaviour?

I only want to use a single channel.

Thanks

Need to ensure who makes the call on the B2.......If the Cisco 1600 is making a call on the B2 channel back to the Zyxel & to stop this ensure we do not have the following in the config on the 1600 (under the bri or dialer interface):

Called number in Dialer map command or dialer string.

dialer load-threshold xxx

ppp multilink

debug dialer / deb isdn q931 / deb ppp nego on the 1600 will be useful.

Thanks, Mak.

Hi.

Assuming you are using PPP between both routers, you should use authentication (PAP or CHAP). Otherwise the Cisco has no way to know that the ISDN B channel already opened is the way to reach the Zyxel router and it will establish a call on the next available B channel (#2).

Hope this helps.

authentication CHAP is configured... :-(

Hi.
