I have got SSH and use it to connect to our Linux machine. I want to use it to remotely connect to our routers instead of using Telnet, which I think is not so secure.

How do I configure the router for SSH log in. I have notice that the transport input available are telnet, all, lapb-ta, none, pad, rlogin, v120

need your help

you need a crypto version that supports ssh , you should see transport input ssh when you put this version

after upgrading the router to a crypto version(des/3des) then go to this link

to configure it

It sounds like the IOS on the routers does not support secure shell. Use this link to find out which IOS supports SSH and "Search by Features"...

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/CompNav/Index.pl?Introduction=True

I did log into this site and with the type of Internet connection I got, I got a hard time trying to locate it . Anyway, can you just give me in simple terms what IOS I will need. Also the recommended IOS should support SNMP Version 2 or 3.

Like IOS ver 2.2 with what feature

regards

Need to know what kind of Cisco routers you have, how much flash memory you have, and how much DRAM you have on each router.
