VIP4-50

I been receiving follwoing error on my 7500 router log:

%vip4-50 RM5271-1-MSG Slot0 Procmem ECC single-bit exception data =8E040070..........etc.....

Cisco recommending replacing with new VIP4-50. My question is do i need to do any configuration or just pull out the existing vip4-50 and put new vip4-50 in? Thanks

no additional configuration is going to be needed assuming that you are going to replace it in the same slot. Another thing to keep in mind is if the card is not recognized by the router , i.e. if you do a sh ip int brief and the interfaces for that card are missing do not do a wr mem , you will lose the config for this card in your startup config.
