Re: Vlan 120

Hi,

Well, if its already VTP client and is int the same domian as of ur VTP server, then this client will get the VLAN 120 in its database automatically.

Do a show vlan and confirm. If its not there then check your trunk settings and VTP settings like password and version.

If its there, then just assign all the ports to VLAn 120.

HTH, Please rate if it does.

Re: Vlan 120

Hi Ali,

For me it will mean as the management vlan for this VTP client switch will be vlan 120.

VTP client is a switch itself and a switch represent itself with the management vlan. Now as per your statement "put this vtp client in vlan 120" it should get vlan 120 from vtp server and you can create layer 3 interface for this vlan which is "interface vlan 120" and assign an ip address to this interface to manage it.

As it is already a VTP client so it will be having a trunk allowing vlan 120, should be having a proper VTP domain name and password if any.

HTH, if yes please rate the post.

Re: Vlan 120

hi

HOW Can i configure this?

10xs for ur reply!

Re: Vlan 120

Hi Ali,

If your VTP is already been configured and you just want to create vlan 120 as layer 3 interface you can enter "interface vlan 120" from config mode and thn assign an ip address

switch(config)#interface vlan 120

switch(config-if)#ip address

switch(config-if)#no shut

If your VTP itself is not configured have a look at this link to configure this switch as VTP client
