vLAN ACLs vs.Router Interface ACLs on Layer 3 Switching (eg 3550 EMIs)

Just a heads up on those who have configured vLAN ACLs, or know about them.

The documentation from the 3550 SW configuration is rather confusing, see http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps646/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a008007e701.html

Just a few questions as I need to clarify something - dumb questions of the day maybe :-)

Are vLAN ACLs less resource intensive and more effiecient than router interface ACLs ?

Do you believe vLAN ACLs are an appropiate way of filtering inter-vLAN traffic ?

In general, VACLs would be less cpu intensive than IOS ACLs because they are handled by hardware rather than by the IOS.

Hey thanks for this, this was just the document I was after.

Also thankyou for clarifying this, that is exactly what I thought, but I wanted clarification
