VLAN change

We have added a new VLAN in our network and changed 3 switchces to the new VLAN (all ports). Now I'm not able to telnet to only those 3 switches. I get the following: "% Authentication failed." I can ping them and all the workstations can communicate with all the servers in other VLANs and get to the internet... I'm using tacacs for authentication. Could that be the pb? any idea? Thanks...

Did you change the IP addresses of the switches to addresses in the new VLAN? If so, did you change the entries for these switches in your TACACS server(s) to reflect these new addresses?

I would definitely check and make sure the entries in your TACACS server are correct. If you can, it may also be good to try disabling TACACS authentication (get in through the console port) and see if you can telnet then. That should isolate the problem.
