Vlan Configuration Documentation

I have a 3550 XL with the Enhanced image as a Core switch in our infrastructure. I have 10 2900/2900XL swtiches each directly connected to it. I want to configure each switch as a Vlan and IP Subnet. I want each of these Vlans to use DHCP from our DHCP Server and use the Existing Router. I believe I can avoid having to do any configuration changes to the 2900's by setting up Port Based, Static Vlan's on the 3550XL. Is this true? If so, Where can I find the Information on how to configure this properly? When I have tried to do this previously, I do not get a DHCP Address and communication from the test switch stops to the rest of the network. Any Help is appreciated.

Re: Vlan Configuration Documentation

I'm not sure what you are looking for...If you are looking on how to configure the switches /interfaces to different VLANs, the following pages should help

http://cio.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/c2900xl/29_35wc5/scg/swvlan.htm

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/

Even with port based static VLANs you'll need to assign the interfaces to whatever VLAN you want them in. If you are trunking between the switches, you can use VTP to carry VLAN information, but you'll still need to do port assignment
