vlan int administratively down - all the time !!

Hi,

in my 2924xl switch only native vlan interfaces are up-up, but not others, created vlan interfaces are all the time administratively down-protocol down, "no sh" has no effect!

Any idea?

this is a straight layer 2 switch, the interface vlan is only for management purpose, hence it does not make sense for it to have multiple interface vlan and therefore only one interface vlan can be brought up for management at any given time.

I know its not a layer 3 switch but as it was possible to create VLAN interfaces I hoped that it will be possible to bring them up as a router with routing protocols disabled:(

Any way Think youfor your help.
