VLAN Membership on a Catalyst 5500

Is it possible for a single port on a Catalyst 5500 to be a member of more than one VLAN?

For example, the normal command syntax is:

set vlan 2 2/15

But, I would like port 2/15 to be a member of both VLAN 2 and VLAN 3.

Is this possible??? If so, please provide command syntax.

Thanks in advance.

Nope. Only the XLs support multiVLAN feature. If you are looking to carry multiple VLANs over a single link, you can configure it to be a trunk, but for trunk, both sides need to be capable of trunking. You can find more info on trunking on CCO at
