Hi

You can use IOS version 12.3 Major Release. The latest IOS verion 12.4 also supports it.

Use the feature navigator to find exactly what you need.

Feature Navigator -->

"i was thinking that i will create all vlan interface in 2950 switch & let the inter-vlan routing happen in 1751"

>> is perfectly fine, You can do that. Just need to create trunk interface to carry all the VLANs on the single link to the router.

thanks abhishek,

but still i doubt, on the switch side i will say "switch port mode trunk" but on the router fas 0/0 what should i put?

Hi

At the router end you need to make different subinterfaces and assign encapsulation followed by the different vlan ids which you are trunking out on the switch port.

for more info do refer this link ..

regds

but where will i set the domain name?

you can set your domain name at the SWITCH...for intervlan you just need to create the subinterfaces on router in order to make the intervlan routing ...

I think you have gone off track. What sprem suggested that you need to make sub interfaces on the interface of router with encapsulation enabled for all of them is the way to go about it.

Are you thinking in terms of VTP, so that the changes are relfected at the router end too? I am not sure about that. Perhaps you would have to make changes manually on the router.
