Hi all

I am setting up vlans on a core switch, then connecting 5 switches off this core, the core switch will be doing the routing for the 5 vlans, my question is, where the other switches connect to this, do I set them as access ports in there own vlan, or as trunk ports ?

If all the ports on the edge switches are configured to be on just one VLAN then the uplink between the core-edge can be configured as an access port on their respective VLAN. You need to enable trunking on the uplink port only if the edge switches have ports assigned to more than VLAN.
