vlans names

hi,

do i have to name a vlan when i create one?

Hi Shadow,

Nops not necessary you need to name them but even if you do not specify any name it will take a default one with "VLANxxxx" where "xxxx" denotes the vlan number.

But a good network design if you have many vlans is to assign a name so that you can easily at a glance recognise which belong belongs to which set of people/purpose.
