I'm running a Campus LAN with a Catalyst 6509 as the core-layer switch, and four Catalyst 4006 switches as the distribution-layer switches. The 6509 is running VMPS server, and my access-layer switches (2950, 3550) are running VMPS client. However, my 4006's don't seem to be able to be configured as a VMPS client. I'm running IOS ver 12.1(8a) and they have the Supervisor Engine III. Any ideas on what I need to do to allow them to be VMPS clients? I haven't seen any documentation on this anywhere. Thanks for the help.
