VMS 2.1 Security Monitor : Mail notification

Hi,

I have VMS 2.1 with Security Monitor installed.

I want to create an event rule based on the filter : severity >= High, with : notify via Email. So I select in my rule the choice Notify via email, and in Administration > System Configuration > Email Server, I enter the IP address of my SMTP Server.

But I never receive any email message, when the IDS sensorI detects high severity message.

Do you have an idea ?

Why do we not declare the sender of the email message ? What will it be ?

Here is the configuration and checklist for defininf e-mail notification for IDS events. Check if you have missed out anything.

Why not declare the sender of the message?...may be for security reason, or the system do not want someone to reply to the notification itself.
