vmware and vlan help!!

Hi

I'd like to setup three vmware instllations on one host and I'd like each of those vm-hosts to be in a separate vlan. Could some one please tell me how I could do that on my cisco 3548 switch please given that the physical vmware host server only has one connection to the switch.

Thanks in advance

Dan

Re: vmware and vlan help!!

Dan,

One way you could do this is to configure the 3548 port as a trunk. Then, allow just those VLANs that you have configured on your vmware server on that trunk.

Re: vmware and vlan help!!

Make sure you set the port ont the switch is set to trunking and set for 802.1q trunking (maybe ISL is the default)

Second does the Server card support trunking?
