Voice VLAN

Hi

Just wanted to know how do i set up a Separate VLAN for Voice, This should be a Dynamic VLAN, i also have existin Data VLANS, SO was wondering what happens when i plug in any Voice Device i.e IP Phone..how does it detect which VLAN to communicate with...if i go for a Dynamic VLAN.??

A voice vlan acts as a "dynamic VLAN", but it is not the same as VMPS's "dynamic VLAN." A voice vlan is configured in conjuction with a data (access) VLAN. When an IP phone boots up it sends a CDP trigger message to the switch. The switch responds immediately with a CDP that contains information about the Aux VLAN configuration. This is how the IP Phone knows what VLAN-ID to use in tagging frames sent to the switch.
