I have a few remote office which is using the PPPoE Router to connect to Internet. The Central Office is using the Cisco 1710 router for VPN service. I have a problem on the VPN Connection.

WK1------R1------Internet-------R2

R1 is a PPPoE Router and R2 is a Cisco 1710 Router. WK1 is using the W2K. The problem is when WK1 connect the VPN to the R2 through R1. The connection is OK but after a few hour ~12 hours. Some package will be dropped when using the ping test. 2 of 5 are dropped. Do you have any idea? Please advice

Hi Godlam,

I suspect that you might have an IPSec/ISAKMP lifetime of 12 hrs. Check out. If thatz the case, then you will see some traffic getting dropped during re-negotiation of SAs.

No, I have taken out the policy from interface. So I think I have not applied the IPSEC/ISAKMP on the VPN.
