Vrrp on Loopback interface ?

Hi there,

I've got 2 routers working together with their interfaces VRRPed. I've got "NAT on a stick" configured on Loopback interface of one of them and I want it to be there even if failover happens. Would you suggest any possible solutions for achieving this ?

Thanks,

Alex

Re: Vrrp on Loopback interface ?

I guess it will depend on what you are using to switch the VRRP. If you are tracking something then maybe you could policy route it back to the other router that has the NAT on a stick. Now if you are using VRRP to protect againt the failure of the router itself then you have to solve the lose of the nat translation table.

I guess a solution that may work is to use stateful nat between the 2 routers much as if this was not nat on a stick.

Never tried both nat on a stiok and stateful nat...ie a redundant nat on a stick router. Sounds like a lab project when I get some free time.
