VTP/VLAN Configuration

I am configuring a switch prior to deploying it to the closet of course and settting up the ports for there correct VLANS. The switch is setup in client mode for VTP so only VLAN one exists on the switch. When I assign a specific port to a different VLAN other then 1 the port is assigned and then an error is message is given because the client is not attached to the VTP domain. My question is once the switch is introduced to the domain will the port remain on the VLAN that I assigned such as 104 or will it default to VLAN 1?

Re: VTP/VLAN Configuration

Since the switch is in client mode, the VLANs will not get applied. I suggest that you use the VTP transparent mode instead. More info on VTP can be found at
