You will not need a trunk to forward the frame properly. You need a trunk to recognize and process the tagged frame correctly. 802.1Q/p defines the use of three-bit COS field in the 802.1Q tag for prioritizing frames with eight class (priorities) of traffic. If you really want to find the exact details on how the Windows is supposed to design and forward this tagged traffic to the switch, then I suggest checking the IEEE spec.
