What Input Events will trige EIGRP neighbor reset?

Are there Input Events lead to EIGRP running router resets all of its connected neighbors?

Re: What Input Events will trige EIGRP neighbor reset?

I m not sure about input events, but turning off split horizon for eigrp does reset all neighbor connections. But this happens only over the concerned interface, where the command is executed.

eigrp log-neighbor-changes or eigrp log-neighbor-warnings is a good command to generate a sys log msg when a neighbor state change occurs. This command will help getting some info, abt, how the state change occured.

Re: What Input Events will trige EIGRP neighbor reset?

According to Ivan Pepelnjak's book EIGRP Network Design Solutions, any configuration change that would change the topology table on the router irself og any of its neighbours causes a reset of the neighbor adjacencies.

These include:

- change in interface bandwidth, delay or mtu

- split horizon config

- summarrization config

- interface address change

- passive-interface

- distribute-list config/removal

- acl referenced in distribute-list changed

- auto-summary

The interface specific will only reset neighbors on that interface, the global will reset all neighbors.

In addition the following events cause a reset:

- hold timer expiry (obviously)

- retransmission timeout

- interface down

- networks removed from eigrp process

Re: What Input Events will trige EIGRP neighbor reset?

Thanks for eigrp IEs.

I have observed at the same time an ospf neighbor dampens( bidirection redistribution btw ospf and eigrp with route-map to eliminate the re-redistribution routes, and summary address in eigrp interfaces for less route redistributed from ospf to eigrp domain) , All of eigrp neighbor resets.

In this time DUAL of eigrp recaculated, and EIGRP neighbor log displays the change of neibor events that ' remove exteral'. (The physical links btw eigrp neighbors are stable and NO any configuraion of eigrp changes)

Can I conclude that 'summarrization config ' is the reason for all eigrp neighbors resets ? And the only reason is one of OSPF neighbor's adjancy resets?
