What interface i'm in?

Is it possible to know which interface configuration I'm in? Sometime I do many things and forget what this interface in interface configuration mode is.

Unfortunately, I don't believe it is possible for you to have this information... The prompt will just show "config-intf" regardless of which interface you are configuring .

Try this.

Type 'do show history' and the last 'interface (type_#)' is the mode you are in. Here's a lab example. As you can see, I am in interface fastethernet0 mode.

Router(config)#int f0

Router(config-if)#do show hist

int f0

do show hist
