So does any body know the IOS is Cat 4500 is like Cat 6500 use "set" command or like Cat 3550 use commands like router? Thank You!

It depends on Supervisor module you use.

SupII requires CatOS ("set" command), SupIII and SupIV require IOS.

See http://cco-rtp-1.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/hw/switches/ps4324/products_data_sheet09186a008014ae4c.html

for details.

Hi ,

Yes I had the same fun with a 4705R - the concepts are the same whichever command set - the best cisco URL i can find is:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/101.html

this is titled:

comparing layer 2 operations in CatOS and IOS on catalyst 6000/6500

but it gives you a table of new nativeIOS commands in comparrison to set based commands

hope helpful !!
