Hi All,
Our network need to upgrade and considering the cost and performance, Cat 4500 series is suitable for us. But I am worrying about how to config it, because I have no experence in Cat IOS, And I can not find any meterial in web site. So does any body know the IOS is Cat 4500 is like Cat 6500 use "set" command or like Cat 3550 use commands like router? Thank You!

It depends on Supervisor module you use.
SupII requires CatOS ("set" command), SupIII and SupIV require IOS.

Hi ,
Yes I had the same fun with a 4705R - the concepts are the same whichever command set - the best cisco URL i can find is:

this is titled:
comparing layer 2 operations in CatOS and IOS on catalyst 6000/6500
but it gives you a table of new nativeIOS commands in comparrison to set based commands
