What is the best Modem for remote access?

What would be the best external modem to use for dial-up access to my 2501?

I thought I could get away with a cheapo Creative labs 56k,,,but it will not awnser an incoming call.

(no memory for initialization strings)

Any suggestions would be appreciated...

US Robotics 56k V.90 modem will do the job, even a less expensive 33.6k USR modem will work.

Re: What is the best Modem for remote access?

Hi.

I'm trying to connect a modem (USR 56k Fax)to the console port of a Pix for emergency access. I can't get the modem to hang up after the call is complete. I think it is because it still senses DTR from the Pix. I set it to ignore DTR but that doesn't work. It works fine on an old c2611.

Any ideas?
